| While implementing the train dispatch digital radio communication project on the Latvian Railways (LDz DMR), using DMR radio technology, based on MOTOTRBO equipment by MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS, the total cost of the project is 7 M€; the following results were achieved: |
| – process engineering and construction design were completed, |
| – new radio communication towers were installed at 24 sites for the installation of DMR equipment, namely repeaters (base stations) and antenna-feeder devices, |
| – 4 railway lines were commissioned, on which the new Škoda electric trains included into the LDz DMR system run, |
| – infrastructure (including data transmission network and power supply equipment) was installed at more than 100 sites, |
| – the DMR radio communication system was integrated with the train dispatcher communication system manufactured by Iskratel, in order to ensure that the dispatchers, locomotive drivers, and station attendants work in accordance with their areas of responsibility and locations, |
| – the LDz personnel were trained to perform operation and maintenance. |
