An important condition of safety of level crossings is automatic level crossing signalling. There are more than 4000 level crossings of different categorization and technical equipment at the Ukrainian railway network.
Notwithstanding the war, the company Belam continues to invest into the economy of Ukraine and support innovations at the railway network. In December 2022, a computer-based automatic level crossing signalling system APS-M produced by Belam was put into trial operation at one of the sections of Ukrainian Railways JSC. The computer-based automatic level crossing signalling system APS-M is a hardware and software suite for the management and control of level-crossing automation devices. Modern axle counting sensors are used for train approach control.
The APS-M power supply system is equipped with surge protection devices and ensures uninterrupted operation of APS.
APS-M may be linked to EI/CBI systems via both digital and relay interface.
The APS-M automated workplace (AWP) and the monitoring panel HMI allow controlling the parameters of all components and implementing the predictive diagnostics of the system.
The central processing units of APS-M are based on serial programmable controllers and have modular structure.
The system software is implemented in accordance with IEC 61131 standard, using industrial communication protocols. The flexible architecture and advanced diagnostics allow minimizing the customer’s operating and maintenance costs.
